Director - Orlando Youth Horn Choir
Gavin Hall is a horn player and teacher, conductor, ensemble director, and a product of Central Florida; he grew up in the Greater Orlando Area playing horn before receiving an AA in Music Performance from Valencia College, and later a BA in Music Education from Stetson University. Upon graduating, he worked as a traveling ensemble clinician, horn teacher, and performer. He spent one-year teaching band at St. Cloud Middle School and is now the current Assistant Band Director at Tavares High School.
Gavin has studied horn with some of the finest horn teachers and performers in the Central Florida area including, but not limited to, Dr. William Robinson, Jonathan Territo, and Kathy Thomas. All of whom having been directly taught by, or their teachers taught by, the renowned Philip Farkas. It is this blessing of passed down knowledge that Gavin plans to continue to spread to young horn players in the Central Florida area for years to come.
Hall has been with the Orlando Youth Chamber Ensembles since its inaugural season in 2018, where he originally assisted in conducting the Orlando Youth Clarinet Choir and starting the Orlando Youth Low Brass Ensemble. He now currently holds a chair on the Board of Directors and runs the Orlando Youth Horn Choir. Performance from Stetson University.
