Daniel Maldonado is a saxophonist and music educator in the Orlando area. He is currently the Band and Orchestra Director at South Creek Middle School where he oversees beginning, intermediate, and advanced ensembles, as well as a jazz club that meets after school. On top of his teaching duties, Daniel is the co-director of the Central Florida Community Arts Big Band.
Daniel began his life with music at the age of 5 taking piano lessons. From there, he began playing saxophone in middle school. He attended Lake Howell High School, where he discovered his passion for teaching while being an active member in the student leadership. Daniel received his Bachelor of Arts in Music from the University of Central Florida. While at UCF, Daniel participated in the Marching Knights, Jammin’ Knights, UCF Wind Ensemble, UCF Concert and an active member of Kappa Kappa Psi, a national honorary service fraternity. Daniel continued his education by enrolling in Summer Music Education Master’s program at Florida State University and graduated during the Summer of 2017.
Daniel is very active within music education. Being an active member of the Florida Bandmasters Association, his students consistently participate in Solo & Ensemble, OCPS All County Ensembles, and District Concert Band Music Performance Assessments.
